Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong downtown event base, with parking charges and a room refresh to consider. a full-service, mid-range downtown business hotel, scored for what it is.

Marriott Orlando Downtown is a full-service, mid-range business hotel that makes particular sense for a Kia Center concert or downtown work trip. We'd pick it for reliable comfort rather than resort atmosphere: Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, helpful staff and convenient access to events. The outdoor pool, Starbucks and Shade Bar and Grill make it easy to unwind without heading elsewhere.

The main catch is the extras: valet parking costs extra, while the adjacent city lot requires separate payment. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests both flag parking costs. Marriott also currently advertises a minor guest-room renovation, without giving a completion date, so ask about work near your assigned room. It's a strong city-stay choice; we'd skip it if avoiding renovation uncertainty or parking charges matters most.

• Best for: Kia Center concert and game trips; downtown business travelers; Bonvoy elites with lounge access

• Watch out for: Guest-room refresh currently advertised; Paid valet or separately paid city parking; Check breakfast and in-room Wi-Fi inclusions

• Location: Useful downtown event base; several recent Expedia guests describe a roughly 15-minute walk to Kia Center.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and well regarded; Marriott currently advertises a minor guest-room refresh.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Expedia, Booking.com and Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff draw repeated praise, although not every guest reports consistent service.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, 24-hour gym, Starbucks, restaurant and M Club for eligible guests.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast can cost extra; Marriott ties complimentary in-room Wi-Fi to eligible direct Bonvoy bookings.
