Haymarket is a five-star boutique hotel that delivers more than a convenient theatre-district address. Its individually designed rooms, patterned fabrics and contemporary art give it real personality, while Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise spotless housekeeping, comfortable beds and genuinely helpful staff. We'd put it high on the list for a London splurge: the National Gallery and major theatres are close, yet guests often describe the rooms as surprisingly quiet. An 18-metre indoor pool and welcoming guest lounges add substance to the style.

The compromises are mostly practical. Breakfast isn't included in every booking, and Expedia lists a service fee. Confirm pool availability if swimming matters: the hotel hires the space for events, and a September 2026 guest reported losing access. We'd skip it if restrained decor or uninterrupted pool access matters more than character and location.
