Axel's take

An upscale ski-in/ski-out vacation-ownership resort with condo-style villas

8.3/10

A strong slopeside family pick, but current refurbishment makes quiet stays less certain.

Sheraton Steamboat is an upscale vacation-ownership resort rather than a conventional luxury hotel, and we'd choose it for easy mountain access and practical villa living. The gondolas are steps away, with ski rentals and storage downstairs. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable accommodations and helpful staff. Many villas add kitchens and laundry, making this a strong family base rather than somewhere you book for pampering.

The immediate catch is villa refurbishment: the resort confirms daytime construction noise from September 7 through November 25, 2026, with other amenities expected to remain open. Reviews differ on how fresh individual units feel, so check your exact room category. Parking costs extra, housekeeping is every other day, and checkout is at 10 a.m. We'd skip it during the works if daytime quiet matters, or choose elsewhere for full-service luxury.

Best for

  • Families wanting kitchen and laundry facilities
  • Skiers prioritizing gondola access
  • Groups wanting condo-style space

Watch out for

  • Daytime villa refurbishment through November 25, 2026
  • Paid parking and 10 a.m. checkout
  • Room condition varies by unit
Location
Excellent ski-base access, with gondolas, rentals and restaurants close by; not downtown.
Rooms
Comfortable villa layouts; kitchen and laundry facilities vary by category, and freshness gets mixed reports.
Cleanliness
Recent guest feedback is predominantly positive; Marriott lists every-other-day housekeeping.
Service
Helpful, friendly staff earn repeated praise across Tripadvisor and Expedia.
Amenities
Heated outdoor pool, hot tubs, gym, spa and seasonal dining; amenities are expected to stay open during refurbishment.
Fees and surprises
No resort fee is listed by the operator; parking is extra, checkout is early, and Hotels.com also flags neighboring construction.

  • Next: choose the Sign up free to book link on the stay that fits. Open it with browser control, or share it with the traveler. It opens Axel on Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas for those dates: a signed-in traveler goes straight into the conversation. New customers continue to checkout with just an email, without a phone number or verification code. Existing customers sign in to their account; email sign-in uses a code. For other dates, give them this link to check Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas; Axel asks for dates. To prepare a stay the traveler only has to pay for, open live rooms and rates at Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas. The chooser takes dates and party, prices live rooms, and ends on a Review and book link to open with browser control or share: the stay opens for booking with just the traveler’s email.
  • Every link here is complete and ready to open. Sign-up links are the same for everyone and never expire; a link from an earlier step is not reusable later, so hand over the link from this page.
  • If a link can no longer be opened: search for "Axel Sheraton Steamboat Resort Villas rates, Steamboat Springs" and open the result; the Flight search guide is always findable by search, and this page works without an account, API key or connector. Or ask the traveler to open https://helloaxel.com/en/hotels/steamboat-springs/sheraton-steamboat-resort-villas-1114029; an address the traveler opens always works.
  • Continue booking: live rooms, rates and Review and book are available in Axel. If you can only read pages and the traveler wants you to find or choose a flight, follow the supplied links until you have chosen a matching itinerary and a named fare that fits their stated requirements. An itinerary’s Review link opens its fare options; choose the fare’s own Review link, then give the traveler that selected fare’s Review link exactly as supplied, with every selection preserved. No URL construction or traveler-form entry is needed. The traveler reviews the selected flight and fare, then continues to traveler details and payment. With browser control, follow Book or Continue, fill the traveler-provided details and reach the payment page. Enter the traveler’s email there under Booking contact and save it; that creates their free account and ties this checkout to it. Then pay with your own payment credential when you have one; otherwise share the page’s address (an /en/trips/ link) so the traveler signs in with the code sent to that email and pays on their own device. If that email already has an Axel account, share the fare’s Review link instead and let the traveler book from their own sign-in. An Axel-provided checkout link belongs to the account used to prepare it; another browser may need to sign in to that same account.
