Axel's take: 8.2/10

A comfortable waterfront base whose location is stronger than its value. a full-service 4-star waterfront hotel opposite Pier 66, scored for what it is.

Seattle Marriott Waterfront is a full-service 4-star hotel we’d choose for sightseeing or a Pier 66 cruise. Its biggest advantage is the setting: the waterfront, aquarium and Pike Place Market are within easy reach. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff, with water-view rooms adding a worthwhile sense of place. You’re paying primarily for convenience rather than exceptional luxury.

The trade-offs are extra charges and a busy cruise-hotel atmosphere. Valet parking costs extra, Booking.com lists a nightly resort fee, and some guests report noisy air-conditioning or uneven service. We’d book a specifically described water-view room rather than assume every outlook is impressive. It’s a strong pick for first-time visitors; skip it if you want boutique intimacy or minimal extras on the bill.

• Best for: cruisers departing from Pier 66; first-time Seattle sightseers; travelers prioritizing waterfront access

• Watch out for: nightly resort fee and paid valet parking; busy cruise-day atmosphere; some reports of noisy air-conditioning

• Location: Opposite Pier 66, with convenient access to the waterfront, aquarium and Pike Place Market.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable; reserve the specific view you want, and request quiet air-conditioning if noise-sensitive.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength across sources, including strong cleanliness ratings on Expedia and Booking.com.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff receive frequent praise, though individual service failures appear in recent reviews.

• Amenities: Indoor/outdoor pool, fitness center, on-site dining and an access-controlled M Club lounge.

• Fees and surprises: Budget for the listed nightly resort fee and valet parking; breakfast and lounge access depend on your booking or eligibility.
