Axel's take: 7.7/10

A practical airport base with comfortable rooms, but renovations complicate the stay. a mid-range business hotel near St. Pete–Clearwater airport, scored for what it is.

This mid-range business hotel makes more sense for airport stops and nearby offices than a beach vacation. We'd consider it for the clean, spacious rooms, helpful staff and free parking. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests generally back those strengths, and the substantial gym is another plus. Marriott says the guest rooms have been renovated, giving it more appeal than older complaints suggest.

The catch is the ongoing work: Expedia lists lobby and dining-area renovations from April 13 through December 31, 2026, with completion subject to change. Confirm restaurant arrangements and pool availability before booking; current amenity listings disagree. Breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking or benefits, and some guests find it underwhelming. We'd skip it for a walkable sightseeing trip or a disruption-free resort break.

• Best for: St. Pete–Clearwater airport stopovers; business travelers visiting nearby offices; travelers with a car

• Watch out for: Lobby and dining renovations through December 2026; Pool availability needs confirmation; Car-dependent location away from the beach

• Location: Near PIE airport and Carillon offices; downtown sights and Gulf beaches require a drive.

• Rooms: Renovated rooms draw praise for space and comfort; occasional maintenance and air-conditioning complaints remain.

• Cleanliness: Recent feedback is predominantly positive, supported by solid cleanliness scores on Expedia and Booking.com.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across recent Expedia and Tripadvisor reviews.

• Amenities: Large gym, restaurant and complimentary PIE-only airport shuttle; confirm pool access and dining arrangements during construction.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is complimentary; breakfast generally costs extra, and lobby/dining renovations are scheduled through December 31, 2026.
