#8 of 9 hotels in Motijheel & Paltan by Axel's take. Motijheel & Paltan is #2 of 8 places to stay in Dhaka. The best hotels in Motijheel & Paltan, ranked · Where to stay in Dhaka

Axel's take: 6.0/10

Convenient for Motijheel business, but room upkeep makes this a cautious choice. an aging 3-star business hotel in Dhaka’s Motijheel district, scored for what it is.

Purbani is an aging 3-star business hotel whose strongest argument is its Dilkusha location, handy for appointments around Motijheel. It offers the practical basics: air-conditioned rooms, a restaurant, bar, Wi-Fi and breakfast. Staff earn some genuinely warm feedback, and several recent guests report comfortable stays. Still, we’d treat it as a location-led choice rather than a dependable all-rounder.

The concern is upkeep, not simply old-fashioned decor. Expedia’s 2025–2026 reviews repeatedly flag cleanliness and poorly maintained bathrooms, alongside some positive reports; Tripadvisor’s overall assessment is middling too. Recent Google-linked feedback also describes worn rooms and facilities. That unevenness matters even at three-star level. Consider it if nearby business is your priority and you can inspect the room first; we’d skip it for a stay where reliable cleanliness and modern bathrooms are essential.

Best for: business travelers with appointments in Motijheel; short stays where location comes first
Watch out for: recurring cleanliness complaints; worn rooms and poorly maintained bathrooms; reports of cigarette smells
Location: In Dilkusha’s commercial district, with Motijheel metro station within walking distance.
Rooms: Air-conditioned but aging; recent feedback repeatedly questions maintenance, especially bathrooms.
Cleanliness: Uneven: some guests praise clean rooms, while several recent verified reviews report serious shortcomings.
Service: Often a relative strength, though responsiveness is not consistently praised.
Amenities: Expedia lists a restaurant, bar, free buffet breakfast, Wi-Fi and on-site parking; gym availability needs confirmation.
Fees and surprises: Confirm arrival terms: Expedia lists an unusual afternoon check-in surcharge; the official website could not be accessed.
