Axel's take: 8.1/10

A good-value Banani base, with helpful staff and some room wear. a small, independent 4-star business hotel in Banani, scored for what it is.

After Hours Residence is a small, independent 4-star business hotel near Gulshan Lake, and a strong pick for a practical Banani stay rather than a luxury escape. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and good food; breakfast also earns consistent approval on Trip.com. The rooftop dining terrace adds appeal, and we'd favor it for business trips where friendly service and location matter more than polished interiors.

The reservation is room condition: some Trip.com guests describe dated interiors, including one 2025 report of stained carpets and chairs, although the broader cleanliness picture remains positive. Confirm your room category before arrival, since booking mismatches appear in a few accounts. We'd skip it if you want consistently pristine four-star finishes; otherwise, it looks like good value.

• Best for: business travelers visiting Banani and Gulshan; travelers prioritizing service and breakfast; value-minded short stays

• Watch out for: some reports of dated or stained furnishings; confirm the booked room category; airport transfers cost extra

• Location: Banani base near Gulshan Lake, with restaurants and coffee shops nearby.

• Rooms: Comfort generally scores well, but some guests report dated furnishings; confirm your room category.

• Cleanliness: Mostly praised across booking sites, with an isolated recent report of stained carpets and chairs.

• Service: Helpful, attentive staff are among the most consistent positives across sources.

• Amenities: Listings include rooftop dining, two restaurants, a gym, free Wi-Fi and parking.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers are chargeable; Expedia also lists fees for early check-in and late checkout.
