A solid airport stopover, provided you plan the transfer rather than expect terminal convenience. a practical 4-star airport hotel in Rümlang, scored for what it is.

This practical 4-star in Rümlang is a good choice for a short airport stopover, rather than a Zurich city break. Booking.com scores cleanliness and comfort well, while recent Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff. We'd choose it for straightforward overnight comfort; the Italian restaurant and 24-hour gym add useful conveniences without making this a luxury stay.

The main catch is the transfer: this is not the terminal-connected Radisson Blu. The airport-bound shuttle costs extra, needs reserving and doesn't run around the clock, so check your flight timing carefully. Rooms also use an open bathroom concept that won't suit every pair sharing. Some guests report slow check-in or maintenance niggles, although these don't outweigh the generally positive picture. We'd skip it for walk-to-terminal convenience or a sightseeing-focused stay.

• Best for: overnight airport stopovers; short business stays; travelers comfortable using buses or shuttles

• Watch out for: paid, reservation-only airport-bound shuttle; open bathroom layout; not connected to the terminal

• Location: Near the airport in Rümlang; public bus access is close, while the railway station is an 850-meter walk.

• Rooms: Standard rooms are 24 square meters; comfort earns good feedback, but the open bathroom design limits privacy.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength overall, supported by Booking.com scores and recent guest feedback.

• Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, with some reports of slow check-in and uneven problem handling.

• Amenities: Italian restaurant, bar, breakfast buffet, free Wi-Fi and a 24-hour fitness room.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and airport-bound transfers cost extra; reserve the shuttle and verify operating hours before arrival.
