#6 of 9 hotels in Zurich Airport by Axel's take. Zurich Airport is #9 of 9 places to stay in Zurich. The best hotels in Zurich Airport, ranked · Where to stay in Zurich

Axel's take: 7.7/10

A practical airport stopover, provided you can live with very compact rooms. a no-frills 2-star airport hotel, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2-star makes sense for a short airport stopover rather than a Zurich holiday. Unterriet tram stop is right outside, with the airport two stops away and central Zurich roughly 30 minutes away. Booking.com and Expedia ratings suggest it generally delivers the budget basics, while recent guests regularly praise clean rooms and helpful staff. We'd pick it for a straightforward overnight stay, not somewhere to spend much waking time.

The compromises are substantial but predictable: tiny rooms, limited luggage space and a shower opening into the bedroom, which makes sharing awkward. Summer reviews repeatedly mention ineffective cooling; opening windows can bring transport noise. Breakfast and parking cost extra. We'd skip it for longer stays, privacy-conscious friends or families needing room to spread out.

Best for: overnight airport stopovers; solo travelers traveling light; budget-conscious couples
Watch out for: very compact rooms and limited shower privacy; recurring summer cooling complaints; transport noise with windows open
Location: Excellent airport tram access; central Zurich is about 30 minutes away.
Rooms: Basic and cramped, especially for three; the bedroom-facing shower limits privacy.
Cleanliness: Generally a strength across guest ratings, despite occasional recent housekeeping lapses.
Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, though some guests describe brusque reception encounters.
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception, early breakfast and paid laundry cover short-stay essentials.
Fees and surprises: Budget for breakfast, parking and city tax; parking is limited and cannot be reserved.
