#1 of 9 hotels in Zurich Airport by Axel's take. Zurich Airport is #9 of 9 places to stay in Zurich. The best hotels in Zurich Airport, ranked · Where to stay in Zurich
Axel's take: 8.5/10
A dependable airport stopover, provided you're comfortable with digital check-in. a no-frills 3-star in Kloten near Zurich Airport, scored for what it is.
Welcome Inn is a no-frills 3-star in Kloten, and we'd pick it for a practical airport stopover rather than a Zurich city break. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and nearby restaurants. Kloten station is a short walk away for trips into Zurich, while free parking during your stay adds genuine value. It's a strong pick when a comfortable bed and straightforward transport matter more than extensive facilities.
The main catch is arrival logistics: reception has limited hours, and the hotel requires online check-in for guaranteed access. Recent reviews show that after-hours entry works well for some but frustrates others. There's no airport shuttle, so plan on a public bus or taxi. The hotel also explicitly says its cold-air ventilation isn't air-conditioning. We'd skip it if you need round-the-clock reception or dependable summer cooling.
-
Best for: airport stopovers; drivers needing overnight parking; independent travelers comfortable with digital check-in
-
Watch out for: limited reception hours and online check-in; no airport shuttle; ventilation rather than full air-conditioning
-
Location: Central Kloten, close to shops, restaurants and the station; Zurich sightseeing requires a train ride.
-
Rooms: Simple, compact rooms with comfortable beds; official specifications put most at around 18 square meters.
-
Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia, Tripadvisor and Booking.com feedback.
-
Service: Staff earn strong praise, but reception closes evenings and earlier on weekends; remote assistance is available.
-
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, a gym and complimentary lobby refreshments; buffet breakfast costs extra.
-
Fees and surprises: Parking is free during your stay; extended parking and pets cost extra. No shuttle or full air-conditioning.
