Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong airport stopover, with helpful staff but cooling and shuttle caveats. a practical 4-star airport and business hotel, scored for what it is.

Dorint is a practical 4-star airport and business hotel: a strong pick for an overnight before flying, rather than a destination in itself. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful reception staff, while breakfast earns plenty of approval. The nearby Unterriet tram stop makes airport transfers and trips into Zürich straightforward. We'd choose it for convenience and solid comfort, not luxury.

The main reservations are summer room temperatures and transfer extras. Several recent guests report ineffective cooling; the hotel's FAQ confirms that heating and cooling are centrally controlled. The airport-bound shuttle costs extra and runs limited hours, so check arrangements for very early departures. Parking is also charged separately. We'd skip it for a sightseeing-first stay if walking straight into central Zürich matters more than airport access.

• Best for: overnight airport stopovers; business travelers; travelers comfortable using trams

• Watch out for: centrally controlled cooling can struggle in hot weather; airport-bound shuttle charges and limited hours; outside central Zürich

• Location: Near Zürich Airport and Unterriet tram stop; convenient for flights, less so for a walkable city break.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and quiet; summer cooling is the clearest recurring concern.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across sites, despite occasional individual lapses.

• Service: Reception earns consistent praise; restaurant service receives more mixed feedback.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, breakfast buffet, gym and garden terrace; no pool or spa.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and airport-bound shuttle cost extra; confirm shuttle hours and whether breakfast is included.
