Downtown is Branson's best place to leave the car parked for part of the day. Main and Commercial Streets have older storefronts and independent shops; the Landing adds a pedestrian promenade, waterfront dining and fountains along Lake Taneycomo. The convention center and scenic railway depot are here too.

- After dark
- The Landing has evening fountains, restaurants and pubs; visitors describe it as Branson's closest approximation to a late-night district.
- Where to look
- Branson Landing Town Square. Choose the fountains and waterfront promenade for dinner walks and lively evenings without moving the car.Main and Commercial Streets. Favor this roadside stretch for driving access rather than spontaneous waterfront strolls; downtown lies farther downhill.
