Axel's take: 9.3/10

Proper grand-hotel luxury, with standout service and an excellent sightseeing address. a historic five-star luxury hotel on Warsaw’s Royal Route, scored for what it is.

Raffles Europejski Warsaw is a historic five-star that largely delivers on serious luxury expectations. It’s a strong pick for a special city break: spacious, carefully furnished rooms, a substantial Polish art collection and the Royal Route location give it character beyond the brand name. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise attentive staff and room comfort, while Booking.com’s exceptionally strong cleanliness scores reinforce the picture. The Long Bar is another consistent highlight.

The compromises are modest but worth checking before booking. Some rooms face inward, so request an outward-facing room if views matter. Breakfast earns plenty of praise but also occasional criticism on both Tripadvisor and Expedia for falling short of this level. The indoor pool is compact, rather than somewhere for conventional laps. We’d skip it if a large pool or guaranteed city views are essential.

• Best for: couples celebrating a special occasion; luxury travelers exploring Warsaw on foot; art and historic-hotel enthusiasts

• Watch out for: some rooms have inward-facing views; occasional breakfast disappointments; compact indoor pool

• Location: Royal Route address opposite the Presidential Palace, roughly ten minutes’ walk from Old Town Square.

• Rooms: Spacious, individually furnished rooms with strong comfort feedback; confirm the outlook before booking.

• Cleanliness: An exceptional strength: Booking.com rates cleanliness 9.8, supported by recent Expedia praise.

• Service: Recent reviews consistently praise reception, concierge help and thoughtful personal attention.

• Amenities: Spa, sauna, steam room, compact counter-current pool, 24-hour gym, restaurant, Long Bar and patisserie.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast may cost extra; valet parking, airport transfers and pets carry additional charges.
