Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong central base, with excellent transport links but inconsistent room cooling. a practical 4-star city-center hotel near Warsaw Central station, scored for what it is.

Mercure Warszawa Centrum is a practical 4-star for travelers who value convenience over boutique character. Across from Złote Tarasy and close to Warsaw Central station, it makes shopping, rail arrivals and getting around straightforward. We'd choose it for a city break or business trip: Booking.com and Expedia ratings are strong, with guests repeatedly praising cleanliness, helpful staff and the generous breakfast. The sauna and hot tub are useful extras after sightseeing.

The main reservation is temperature control: guests on Expedia and Accor's own site repeatedly report weak or unresponsive air-conditioning, including in October 2026. A substantial refurbishment is documented for 2023–2025, but don't assume every room feels equally fresh. Parking and breakfast can cost extra. We'd skip it if reliable cooling, a swimming pool or an atmospheric Old Town doorstep matters most.

• Best for: rail travelers; business trips; city breaks with easy transport

• Watch out for: recurring air-conditioning complaints; breakfast and parking may cost extra; hot tub rather than a swimming pool

• Location: Near Central station, Złote Tarasy and the Palace of Culture; use public transport for the Old Town.

• Rooms: Comfort scores are strong, but cooling remains a recurring weakness and some guests describe dated rooms.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings on Booking.com and Expedia outweigh scattered housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff receive frequent praise, though individual problem-handling experiences vary.

• Amenities: Winestone restaurant and bar, buffet breakfast, gym, sauna and hot tub; no swimming pool is listed officially.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; parking, pets and requested airport transfers carry additional charges.
