Axel's take: 7.5/10

Choose it for Old Town sightseeing, not a polished spa escape. A simple mid-range hotel with apartments and a spa near Warsaw’s Old Town, scored for what it is.

Jess is a simple mid-range hotel with rooms and apartments, rather than the polished four-star spa retreat its listings might suggest. Its strongest asset is the location on Krakowskie Przedmieście, a short walk from Castle Square. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the convenience, breakfast and helpful staff, with cleanliness generally rated positively. We'd consider it a good base for a short, sightseeing-heavy visit.

Room choice matters: some guests find theirs comfortable, while small layouts, worn interiors and uneven housekeeping recur across reviews. Booking.com currently warns that renovation work affects the elevator; confirm access before booking. Spa feedback is mixed, including recent reports of facilities not fully working, so check availability rather than making wellness the reason to stay. We'd skip it for a special-occasion spa break or if reliable step-free access is essential.

• Best for: First-time Warsaw sightseers; Short city breaks; Families booking larger apartments

• Watch out for: Elevator renovation warning; Small rooms and uneven upkeep; Variable spa availability

• Location: Excellent sightseeing position near Castle Square, restaurants and bus connections.

• Rooms: Rooms and apartments vary considerably; compact layouts and visible wear recur in guest feedback.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive overall, though some guests report housekeeping lapses and stained carpets.

• Service: Helpful staff earn frequent praise, but reception and problem handling are not uniformly consistent.

• Amenities: Asian restaurant, breakfast and spa facilities; confirm which wellness facilities are operating.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast may cost extra; Booking.com lists a refundable damage deposit and warns of elevator renovation.
