Axel's take: 9.2/10

Palace character, polished service and an excellent Old Town location, but no usable pool. a five-star Marriott boutique hotel in restored palaces beside Warsaw’s Old Town, scored for what it is.

Hotel Verte is a five-star boutique hotel in restored palaces beside Warsaw’s Old Town, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. It’s a strong pick for travelers who want historic surroundings without sacrificing modern comfort. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, beautifully finished rooms and meticulous housekeeping; Booking.com guests reinforce the strong picture for comfort and location. Breakfast also earns frequent praise, and the garden adds somewhere appealing to pause between sightseeing trips.

The main caveat is concrete: Marriott says the swimming pool remains unavailable until further notice. Choose elsewhere if swimming is essential to your luxury stay. Parking costs extra, spaces are limited and reservations are required; check whether breakfast is included, too. Otherwise, the evidence points to an unusually consistent luxury hotel rather than merely a handsome address.

• Best for: couples on a luxury city break; Old Town sightseeing; travelers who appreciate historic architecture

• Watch out for: swimming pool unavailable until further notice; paid parking requires advance reservation; breakfast not included in every booking

• Location: Beside the Old Town and Castle Square; particularly convenient for sightseeing on foot.

• Rooms: Guests consistently praise the modern finishes, comfortable beds and generous bathrooms.

• Cleanliness: A standout across sources, with exceptionally strong guest ratings and repeated housekeeping praise.

• Service: Recent reviews repeatedly describe welcoming, professional staff and helpful concierge service.

• Amenities: Restaurants, bar, garden, gym and spa; Marriott explicitly flags the swimming pool as unavailable.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and pets incur extra charges; parking reservations are required, and breakfast inclusion varies.
