Axel's take: 7.9/10

A practical central base, provided you choose your room carefully. An old-school central hotel with 3-star and 4-star room categories, scored for what it is.

Gromada is an old-school city hotel with both 3-star and 4-star room categories, and we'd choose it for convenience rather than polish. Its central Warsaw location puts Nowy Świat, restaurants and public transport within easy walking distance. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms and a varied breakfast; recent Tripadvisor reviews also highlight its location and good value. It's a sensible base for travelers spending most of their time exploring.

The catch is uneven room standards: some interiors and bathrooms feel dated, and air-conditioning is not universal, so confirm your specific category. Service earns plenty of praise, though some guests find it businesslike. Booking.com and Expedia flag major renovations around February–November 2027, affecting elevators, dining areas, the lobby and gym. We'd skip it during that work if quiet or dependable facility access matters.

• Best for: Value-minded city explorers; Short central Warsaw stays; Travelers prioritizing location over style

• Watch out for: Air-conditioning varies by room; Dated interiors in some categories; Major renovations planned for 2027

• Location: Central and walkable, close to Nowy Świat, restaurants, metro and tram connections.

• Rooms: Often spacious, but standards vary; confirm air-conditioning rather than assuming it.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor feedback.

• Service: Generally helpful and efficient, with occasional reports of a distant manner.

• Amenities: Restaurants, café, patio, free Wi-Fi and a gym; breakfast is a frequently praised extra.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and pets cost extra; breakfast inclusion varies. Confirm renovation dates and facility access for 2027.
