#8 of 9 hotels in Belvedere & Hauptbahnhof by Axel's take. Belvedere & Hauptbahnhof is #8 of 10 places to stay in Vienna. The best hotels in Belvedere & Hauptbahnhof, ranked · Where to stay in Vienna

Axel's take: 8.1/10

A practical station-side base, with clean rooms and deliberately stripped-back comforts. a colorful, no-frills 3-star near Vienna’s main railway station, scored for what it is.

Prize by Radisson is a colorful, no-frills 3-star near Vienna’s Hauptbahnhof, and a strong pick for short stays built around trains and sightseeing. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the convenient transport links, comfortable beds and generally clean rooms; recent reviews also regularly commend the staff and breakfast. It delivers the essentials well without pretending to be a full-service hotel.

The compromises are compact, minimalist rooms with limited storage, plus recurring reports of slow self-check-in or reception queues. Tripadvisor feedback is more mixed than the larger booking-site ratings, particularly around service and housekeeping. The hotel confirms cleaning every three days, with daily service available on request, and accepts no cash. We’d skip it for spacious rooms, daily servicing without asking, or an old-town location.

  • Best for: rail travelers and short stopovers; budget-conscious sightseeing couples; solo travelers comfortable using public transport

  • Watch out for: compact rooms and limited storage; potential check-in queues; housekeeping every three days unless requested

  • Location: A short walk from Hauptbahnhof, with convenient tram links; not in the historic center.

  • Rooms: Boldly decorated, compact and functional, with comfortable beds but little storage.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback, though some guests report cleaning lapses; daily housekeeping requires a request.

  • Service: Staff friendliness earns frequent praise, but check-in and reception waits recur across sites.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, breakfast buffet, a 24-hour lobby bar and complimentary luggage storage; pets are welcome.

  • Fees and surprises: Cashless throughout; breakfast, parking and pets carry extra charges unless included in your booking.
