#4 of 4 hotels in Donau City & UNO City by Axel's take. Donau City & UNO City is #10 of 10 places to stay in Vienna. The best hotels in Donau City & UNO City, ranked · Where to stay in Vienna

Axel's take: 8.1/10

Strong on views and comfort, less consistent on five-star polish. a modern 5-star business hotel in Vienna’s Danube-side DC Tower, scored for what it is.

Meliá Vienna is a modern 5-star business hotel in DC Tower, strongest for conference trips and travelers who prefer river views to old-town charm. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise comfortable beds, spacious rooms and breakfast; cleanliness ratings are strong too. We’d pick it for the Danube setting, convenient U1 connection and skyline dining at Altia, rather than for a traditional Viennese luxury experience.

The details don’t always match the five-star label. Recent reviews repeatedly mention worn carpets or maintenance niggles, while restaurant service and housekeeping follow-through can be uneven despite plenty of staff praise. Neighboring DC Tower 2 construction remains a consideration, with completion scheduled for late 2026. There’s a gym but no pool or spa. Skip it if you want sightseeing on your doorstep or reliably meticulous luxury service.

  • Best for: Austria Center and UN business trips; travelers who prioritize river views; couples comfortable using the U-Bahn

  • Watch out for: neighboring DC Tower 2 construction; uneven maintenance and service follow-through; outside the historic center

  • Location: Handy for the Austria Center, UN offices and Danube; nearby U1 connects to the historic center.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds and generous windows earn praise; recent guests also report carpet wear and maintenance niggles.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings, tempered by occasional stained carpets and delayed housekeeping.

  • Service: Staff are frequently praised, but restaurant service and resolving problems are less consistent.

  • Amenities: Altia skyline restaurant and skybar, gym and upgraded The Level lounge access; no pool or spa.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking, pets and airport transfers cost extra; check breakfast inclusion and room outlook during neighboring construction.
