Polished downtown comfort, but the pool renovation makes timing important. a traditional luxury hotel in downtown Vancouver, scored for what it is.

The Sutton Place is a traditional luxury hotel in downtown Vancouver, and we'd pick it for comfortable rooms, attentive service and a location that makes exploring easy. Recent Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the beds, cleanliness and helpful staff; Tripadvisor's recent feedback broadly agrees. The hotel advertises newly renovated rooms, while its classic styling still suits travelers who prefer understated surroundings over trendier design.

The important catch right now is the indoor pool renovation: it closed October 13, 2026, with reopening anticipated December 1, 2026. We'd skip it during that period if swimming is central to your stay. Parking is expensive, breakfast generally costs extra, and entry-level rooms aren't especially large. Come for a polished city base rather than a resort-style escape.

• Best for: couples seeking classic downtown comfort; car-free sightseeing trips; business travelers

• Watch out for: pool closed; reopening anticipated December 1, 2026; expensive parking and extra-cost breakfast; compact entry-level rooms

• Location: Central Burrard Street setting near Robson shopping, restaurants and SkyTrain stations.

• Rooms: Newly renovated options with rain showers and Nespresso machines; entry-level rooms are compact.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com and Expedia guest feedback.

• Service: Recent guests repeatedly praise helpful, professional staff.

• Amenities: Restaurant, spa and gym; indoor pool currently closed for renovation.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast cost extra; pool reopening is anticipated, not guaranteed, for December 1, 2026.
