Axel's take: 9.2/10

A standout downtown luxury stay, with more character than waterfront spectacle. a historic 5-star luxury hotel in downtown Vancouver, scored for what it is.

Rosewood Hotel Georgia is a historic 5-star that largely earns its luxury reputation. Its 2024 renovation refreshed the rooms without losing the building’s 1927 character, and recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise attentive staff, meticulous housekeeping and comfortable accommodation. We’d pick it for a polished downtown stay: shopping, the Vancouver Art Gallery and rapid transit are close, while the indoor saltwater pool, spa and substantial dining lineup make staying in appealing.

Choose your room carefully. Some accommodations are compact or face inward, and this isn’t the place for sweeping harbor views. A minority of recent guests describe service lapses, including slow breakfast service, although the broader feedback remains overwhelmingly positive. Valet parking costs extra. It’s a strong choice for couples and city explorers; we’d look elsewhere if waterfront scenery or generous entry-level room space is essential.

• Best for: couples seeking classic city luxury; downtown shopping and cultural breaks; travelers who value attentive service

• Watch out for: some compact or inward-facing rooms; no sweeping waterfront outlook; paid valet parking

• Location: Central downtown, near the Vancouver Art Gallery, shopping and Vancouver City Centre station.

• Rooms: Refreshed in 2024; room size and outlook deserve attention when choosing a category.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Tripadvisor and Expedia guest feedback.

• Service: Usually attentive and personal, with occasional reports of dining delays and uneven problem handling.

• Amenities: Indoor saltwater lap pool, spa, sauna, cold plunge, fitness center and several restaurants and bars.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking and pet stays carry extra charges; check whether breakfast is included.
