Axel's take: 8.1/10

A dependable airport stop with excellent transit access, though rooms show their age. A practical 4-star airport and conference hotel in Richmond, scored for what it is.

This practical 4-star in Richmond is a strong pick for an airport stopover without being stranded beside the terminal. Aberdeen SkyTrain station is across the street, with shopping and plenty of Asian restaurants nearby. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms, helpful staff and the complimentary airport shuttle; Tripadvisor feedback supports those strengths. We'd choose it for convenience and comfortable basics rather than a polished luxury stay.

The trade-offs are an aging interior and imperfect soundproofing: Tripadvisor and Trip.com guests mention aircraft, traffic or corridor noise. Recent guests also report elevator maintenance, so check its status if easy access matters. The indoor pool, hot tub and gym add useful extras, but parking and breakfast cost extra. We'd skip it for a downtown-focused walking holiday or if quiet, freshly updated rooms are your priority.

• Best for: Airport stopovers; Car-free travelers; Richmond dining and shopping

• Watch out for: Dated interiors and some noise; Recent elevator maintenance; Parking and breakfast cost extra

• Location: Across from Aberdeen SkyTrain in Richmond, convenient for airport transfers, restaurants and shopping.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable, but showing age; soundproofing receives some criticism.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength in recent Expedia feedback and positive Tripadvisor reports.

• Service: Helpful staff and convenient airport transfers attract repeated praise.

• Amenities: Free airport shuttle and Wi-Fi, indoor pool, hot tub, gym and Mozza restaurant.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is paid, not free as the catalog suggests; breakfast costs extra. Check elevator maintenance status.
