A comfortable Burnaby base with helpful staff, but interiors could use a refresh. a full-service 4-star in Burnaby’s Metrotown shopping district, scored for what it is.

This full-service 4-star is in Burnaby, not downtown Vancouver, and it makes a strong base for Metrotown shopping or local business. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and clean, spacious rooms; Booking.com’s ratings reinforce those strengths. Crystal Mall, Metropolis at Metrotown and the nearby SkyTrain make eating, shopping and getting around straightforward. We’d choose it for practical comfort rather than a special-occasion stay.

The main compromise is age: recent guests on Tripadvisor and Expedia describe tired décor and bathrooms, with some also finding the recreation areas dated. Hilton confirms an outdoor pool, gym and restaurant, but parking and breakfast cost extra unless included in your booking. We’d skip it if fresh design is a priority or you want to walk straight out into downtown Vancouver’s sights.

• Best for: business travelers visiting Burnaby; Metrotown shoppers; families comfortable using SkyTrain

• Watch out for: dated décor and bathrooms; parking and breakfast charges; not in downtown Vancouver

• Location: Walkable to major malls, restaurants and SkyTrain; downtown sightseeing requires a transit trip.

• Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable, though recent reviews flag aging décor and bathrooms.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guest feedback.

• Service: Friendly, accommodating staff earn repeated praise, including from recent event organizers.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, fitness center, Time & Place restaurant, free Wi-Fi and connecting rooms.

• Fees and surprises: Parking, buffet breakfast and pets carry extra charges; no airport shuttle.
