Axel's take: 4.2/10

Convenient highway access cannot make up for recurring cleanliness and maintenance problems. a basic budget hotel off I-44 with some kitchenette rooms, scored for what it is.

This is a basic budget hotel off I-44, now marketed by OYO rather than Clarion, and we'd generally skip it. Free parking and kitchenette room options are useful, and some guests praise helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms. But the overall picture is weak: Expedia's 5.8/10 and Booking.com's 3.7/10 suggest problems beyond the usual budget-hotel compromises.

Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly describe dirty or poorly maintained rooms, missing bedding and towels, and pests. Positive reports of refreshed rooms have not established consistent improvement. OYO explicitly says the pool is not operational, despite promotional text advertising it. Breakfast is also unreliable; a September 2026 guest reported none. We'd skip it for family trips or any stay where dependable cleanliness matters; consider it only after checking the actual room and confirming facilities directly.

• Best for: drivers prioritizing I-44 access; travelers needing a kitchenette who can inspect first

• Watch out for: recurring cleanliness, pest and maintenance complaints; pool currently not operational; missing room supplies and unreliable breakfast

• Location: Convenient for I-44 by car; some guests report feeling uncomfortable around the property.

• Rooms: Kitchenette options exist, but condition varies; recent complaints include missing bedding and malfunctioning equipment.

• Cleanliness: Positive reports are outweighed by repeated accounts of dirty rooms and pests across review sites.

• Service: Helpful staff receive regular praise, although reservation handling and problem resolution draw complaints.

• Amenities: Free parking and Wi-Fi are advertised; OYO confirms the pool is not operational.

• Fees and surprises: A refundable cash damage deposit is required; dogs, early check-in and late checkout attract extra charges.
