Axel's take: 8.2/10

A friendly harbor-side base, strongest for travelers with a car. a contemporary, select-service 3-star on Syracuse’s Inner Harbor, scored for what it is.

This contemporary, select-service 3-star is a strong pick for a Syracuse stopover, especially with a car or pet. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The lobby bar gives it more personality than a basic roadside hotel, while an indoor pool, gym and complimentary parking make it practical. It’s convenient for Destiny USA, rather than right in the downtown restaurant district.

The trade-offs are manageable: breakfast costs extra, the parking lot is across the street, and some Tripadvisor guests report thin walls and missed housekeeping. Harborview Aquarium construction across the harbor is another reason to check current conditions, although hotel disruption isn’t established. We’d skip it if doorstep downtown nightlife or reliably quiet rooms matter most.

• Best for: road trips and short stays; travelers with pets; Destiny USA shopping visits

• Watch out for: some thin-wall and housekeeping complaints; breakfast extra; parking across the street; Harborview Aquarium construction nearby

• Location: Waterfront setting near Destiny USA; better as a driving base than a doorstep-downtown stay.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and contemporary rooms earn praise; some guests flag sound carrying between rooms.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback, though missed housekeeping visits recur in some Tripadvisor reports.

• Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are a consistent strength across Expedia and Tripadvisor.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, 24-hour gym, lobby bar and self-serve food options; Marriott says no airport shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Marriott lists free parking across the street and no pet fees; breakfast is extra. Aquarium construction is across the harbor.
