A strong beach-resort choice, but less convincing for city sightseeing or seamless luxury. a large five-star beachfront resort outside Split, scored for what it is.

Le Méridien Lav is a large five-star resort in Podstrana, not central Split. We'd pick it for a beach-led holiday: the marina setting, sea-view balconies, indoor and outdoor pools, and substantial spa give you plenty of reasons to stay put. Expedia and Booking.com guests consistently praise cleanliness, comfortable rooms and breakfast, while staff receive plenty of warm mentions.

The trade-offs matter at this level. Recent Tripadvisor feedback suggests service can be uneven, and guests across sites question the cost of food, drinks and extras. Parking and premium beach seating carry charges. Trips into Split require transport and can drag in traffic. Marriott currently lists the kids club as temporarily closed. We'd skip it for walk-out Old Town sightseeing or if dependable children's activities are essential.
