Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong waterfront base for space and service, but check the spa closure. a compact five-star city hotel overlooking Sharjah’s Khalid Lagoon, scored for what it is.

72 Hotel is a compact five-star city hotel on Sharjah’s corniche, strongest on spacious rooms, lagoon views and attentive service rather than resort-style luxury. Booking.com and Agoda guests consistently praise cleanliness, comfort and location, while recent Tripadvisor reviews reinforce the staff’s helpfulness. We’d shortlist it for a comfortable Sharjah stay, particularly if you book a room explicitly offering lagoon views.

The main current catch is significant: Booking.com lists the spa and wellness center as closed from September 1 through November 30, 2026. Confirm directly before planning treatments. Breakfast feedback is less consistent than praise for the rooms and staff, though the overall picture remains positive. The hotel advertises an indoor pool and gym, but this is a city base, not a beachfront resort. We’d skip it if a full spa experience or beach holiday is the priority.

  • Best for: families wanting spacious rooms; Sharjah sightseeing stays; travelers prioritizing lagoon views

  • Watch out for: spa closure listed through November 30, 2026; lagoon views depend on room category; mixed breakfast feedback

  • Location: Corniche setting near Al Noor Mosque, with waterfront walks and dining nearby.

  • Rooms: Space and comfortable beds earn praise; choose a lagoon-view category deliberately.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Agoda and Tripadvisor feedback.

  • Service: Helpful reception and attentive housekeeping are recurring positives.

  • Amenities: Indoor pool, gym and restaurant; Booking.com currently lists the spa as closed.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is complimentary; breakfast may cost extra, and Booking.com lists a refundable cash damage deposit.
