Axel's take: 7.7/10

Good value and helpful staff, but maintenance needs attention. A simple, budget-friendly city hotel near the Malecón, scored for what it is.

El Señorial 58 is a simple, budget-friendly city hotel in Gazcue, close to the Malecón and within walking distance of colonial sights. It's a good pick for travelers who prioritize location and friendly service over polished rooms. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the staff, breakfast and generally clean accommodation; included breakfast and free parking add practical value.

The trade-off is uneven upkeep. Two July 2026 Expedia reviews report a broken elevator, alongside complaints about deteriorating room fixtures; lift problems also recur in reviews collected by Kayak. Those reports don't outweigh the broadly positive feedback, but we'd confirm the elevator is working before booking an upper floor. Choose it for a straightforward city base, not a resort stay; we'd skip it if reliable step-free access or consistently well-maintained rooms are essential.

• Best for: Budget-conscious city explorers; Short stays near the Malecón; Travelers who value helpful staff

• Watch out for: Recurring elevator outages; Uneven room maintenance; Confirm step-free access directly

• Location: Gazcue base near the Malecón, with colonial sights accessible on foot.

• Rooms: Simple air-conditioned rooms; recent complaints flag worn fixtures and maintenance lapses.

• Cleanliness: Mostly positive feedback, though individual recent reports describe bathroom problems.

• Service: Friendly, accommodating staff are a consistent strength across booking sites.

• Amenities: Breakfast, restaurant, rooftop terrace, free Wi-Fi and free parking are listed.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; confirm elevator operation and breakfast inclusion for your booking.
