Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong business-district pick, with standout staff and a welcome rooftop pool. a renovated, full-service business hotel in Piantini, scored for what it is.

This is a renovated, full-service business hotel rather than a five-star luxury retreat, and it delivers well in that frame. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the cleanliness, helpful staff and comfortable beds. The Piantini address suits meetings, restaurants and shopping, while the rooftop outdoor pool, gym and sauna give it more appeal than a purely functional overnight stop. We'd pick it for a comfortable, practical city stay.

The main compromise is location: you're choosing the modern business district, not the historic Zona Colonial. Breakfast earns plenty of praise, but isn't automatically included; Expedia says even breakfast-inclusive plans cover only two adults. Some guests find standard rooms tight for the price. We'd skip it for old-town atmosphere or resort-style luxury, but it's a strong choice for work trips and shopping weekends.

• Best for: business travelers; shopping and dining weekends; travelers prioritizing clean rooms and helpful service

• Watch out for: Business-district setting, not the historic center; Check breakfast coverage for every guest; Some standard rooms feel compact

• Location: Piantini base near Blue Mall, Agora Mall and restaurants; better suited to business and shopping than historic sightseeing.

• Rooms: Renovated rooms draw praise for comfort and beds; some guests question the space for the price.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com and Expedia, including recent guest feedback.

• Service: Friendly, attentive staff are the clearest recurring highlight across review sites.

• Amenities: Rooftop outdoor pool, restaurant, bars, gym, sauna, free Wi-Fi and free parking; IHG lists no airport shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast depends on the booking plan; Expedia lists a two-adult limit on included breakfast. Pets incur an extra charge.
