Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong Malecón base for service and sea views, with some aging-room trade-offs. an upscale waterfront business hotel on the Malecón, scored for what it is.

This upscale waterfront business hotel is a strong pick for travelers who want sea views and dependable service rather than a beach resort. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the housekeeping, helpful staff and breakfast buffet; Booking.com’s strongest marks are also for staff and cleanliness. The Malecón setting puts the Colonial Zone within a short drive, while the gym, restaurant and spa make it practical for business trips and city breaks.

The main compromise is uneven room polish: guests on Tripadvisor and Trip.com describe some dated bathrooms, worn finishes and noisy or difficult-to-adjust air-conditioning. Ocean-facing rooms can also pick up traffic noise. Crucially, Expedia lists the swimming pool as unavailable October 16–22, 2026; confirm reopening if swimming matters. We’d skip it for a beach holiday or if you expect consistently modern five-star rooms.

• Best for: business travelers; city-break couples; travelers prioritizing sea views and service

• Watch out for: Pool closure listed for October 16–22, 2026; Some dated rooms and bathrooms; Traffic and air-conditioning noise

• Location: On the Malecón, a short drive from the Colonial Zone; waterfront views, not a beach-resort setting.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds and appealing views, but reports of dated bathrooms and inconsistent air-conditioning.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent reviews, with housekeeping frequently praised by name.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring highlight; occasional check-in and room-assignment hiccups.

• Amenities: Gym, spa and restaurant; outdoor swimming pool listed as closed October 16–22, 2026.

• Fees and surprises: Guest parking is complimentary; breakfast depends on the booked plan, and dogs incur an additional charge.
