Axel's take: 8.8/10

Warm service and rooftop wellness make this a strong traditional luxury choice. a traditional five-star city hotel in El Golf, scored for what it is.

The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago is a traditional five-star city hotel in El Golf, strongest on personal service rather than cutting-edge design. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, spacious rooms and comfortable beds; cleanliness also scores strongly. We'd pick it for a comfortable Santiago base with restaurants nearby and El Golf metro practically outside. The glass-roofed rooftop pool, spa and gym give it a genuine edge for downtime.

The trade-off is that some guests find the interiors dated for the brand, despite overwhelmingly positive feedback overall. Diario Financiero reported 2026 renovations to Estró restaurant, the lobby and reception; completion could not be confirmed, so check for remaining work before booking. We'd skip it if contemporary design or walking straight into the historic center matters most.

• Best for: business travelers in Las Condes; couples who prefer traditional luxury; travelers wanting a pool and spa

• Watch out for: some interiors feel dated; confirm completion of public-area renovations; historic sights require transport

• Location: El Golf restaurants and metro are close; this is not a historic-center address.

• Rooms: Spacious and comfortable by most accounts, though some guests flag dated finishes.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent guest feedback.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff are the clearest recurring highlight, with occasional lapses.

• Amenities: Glass-roofed rooftop indoor pool, hot tub, spa, gym and several dining venues.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and airport transfers cost extra; Club Lounge access requires an eligible upgraded booking.
