Axel's take: 8.1/10

A practical self-catering base, with helpful staff but a less reassuring setting after dark. a simple 3-star aparthotel near Bellas Artes, scored for what it is.

Apart Hotel B is a simple 3-star aparthotel, and we'd pick it for practical comfort rather than hotel extras. Kitchenettes make self-catering easy, and Bellas Artes metro, Lastarria and Bellavista's restaurants are within walking distance. Booking.com and recent Expedia guests broadly agree on the strengths: clean accommodation, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. It's a strong option for independent travelers who want a useful city base.

The compromises are worth knowing. Breakfast is basic, with guests describing provisions to prepare yourself rather than a substantial buffet. There's no elevator, standard studios are compact, and housekeeping isn't necessarily daily. Opinions on the surrounding streets differ, but several guests feel uncomfortable after dark. We'd skip it if step-free access, full hotel service or relaxed late-night wandering are priorities. Confirm the cash damage deposit and return arrangements before arrival.

• Best for: independent city explorers; couples wanting a kitchenette; travelers prioritizing practical comfort

• Watch out for: no elevator; basic self-prepared breakfast; mixed reports about surrounding streets after dark

• Location: Walkable to Bellas Artes metro and restaurant districts; guests disagree about comfort after dark.

• Rooms: Air-conditioned kitchenettes; official standard doubles are compact 20-square-meter studios.

• Cleanliness: Generally praised across Booking.com and recent Expedia reviews; confirm housekeeping frequency.

• Service: Helpful staff are a consistent strength, with 24-hour reception advertised.

• Amenities: Kitchenettes, free Wi-Fi and a terrace; breakfast provisions are basic.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a cash damage deposit; confirm refund arrangements and applicable taxes before arrival.
