Half Moon is a small, rustic waterfront cabin hotel, not a full-service resort. For travelers who want snorkeling, hammocks and West End restaurants within a short walk, it has plenty going for it. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests in 2025–2026 repeatedly praise clean rooms, helpful owners and the peaceful setting. The rooms are simple, with air-conditioning, hot water and mini-fridges rather than polished interiors or extensive facilities.
The biggest reservation is its operating status: Roatan Life’s current sale listing says the hotel is not operating, while the official website still invites reservations and Expedia has a July 2026 stay review. Confirm directly before committing. The restaurant and bar are permanently closed; Wi-Fi does not reach every room, and there is no backup generator.
