A strong luxury base for generous rooms, warm service and downtime by the pool. a full-service luxury city hotel with resort-style grounds, scored for what it is.

JW Marriott Quito is a full-service luxury city hotel, and a strong pick if you want space and reliable comforts rather than boutique character. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, spacious rooms and high standards of cleanliness. The heated outdoor pool, gardens and well-equipped health club give it more downtime appeal than a typical business hotel; breakfast also earns consistent praise. We'd shortlist it for a comfortable stop before or after the Galápagos.

The trade-off is location: this is modern Quito, not a doorstep base for the historic center.
