#1 of 8 hotels in Cedofeita by Axel's take. Cedofeita is #3 of 8 places to stay in Porto. The best hotels in Cedofeita, ranked · Where to stay in Porto

Axel's take: 8.9/10

A welcoming central hostel, provided you can handle stairs and nightlife noise. A budget hostel with dorms and private rooms in Porto’s historic center, scored for what it is.

Wine Hostel is a budget hostel, not a conventional two-star hotel, and it’s a strong pick for exploring Porto on foot. Opposite Cordoaria Garden, it combines dorms and private doubles with a shared kitchen, lounge and wine bar. Tripadvisor, Expedia and Hostelworld guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff and cleanliness; recent reviews suggest those strengths remain dependable. We’d choose it for friendly, straightforward accommodation rather than hotel-style extras.

The main compromises are practical: the four-floor building has no elevator, and nearby nightlife can mean noisy nights. Rooms are simple, with fans and heaters rather than a promise of modern hotel comfort. Breakfast, laundry and towel rental cost extra. It suits independent travelers who appreciate communal spaces; light sleepers, anyone with mobility limitations and families with young children should look elsewhere.

  • Best for: Solo travelers on a budget; Friends exploring Porto on foot; Couples happy with a simple private room

  • Watch out for: Nearby nightlife noise; Four floors without an elevator; Breakfast and towel rental cost extra

  • Location: Opposite Cordoaria Garden, near Clérigos Tower, restaurants and nightlife.

  • Rooms: Dorms and private doubles; simple furnishings, fans, heaters and free Wi-Fi.

  • Cleanliness: Consistently praised across recent guest reviews on several sites.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring highlight; reception is not staffed overnight.

  • Amenities: Shared kitchen, lounge, wine bar, breakfast and paid laundry facilities.

  • Fees and surprises: Budget for tourist tax, breakfast, laundry and rental towels or padlocks.
