#5 of 9 hotels in Boavista by Axel's take. Boavista is #7 of 8 places to stay in Porto. The best hotels in Boavista, ranked · Where to stay in Porto

Axel's take: 8.5/10

Strong on space and service, less convenient for sightseeing on foot. a five-star business hotel and spa in Boavista, scored for what it is.

Sheraton Porto is a five-star business hotel in Boavista, and we'd choose it for spacious comfort rather than old-town atmosphere. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, quiet rooms, helpful staff and a generous breakfast buffet. The gym is another strength. It's a very good fit for business trips or travelers happy to trade a central address for more breathing room.

The main compromise is location: exploring the historic center generally means transport rather than stepping outside into the sights. Some recent Booking.com and Expedia guests also find the decor ready for updating, though the overall picture remains strongly positive. More frustrating at this level, the hotel confirms that indoor pool and spa access carry an extra charge unless included in your booking. We'd skip it for an entirely walkable city break or an all-inclusive spa experience.

  • Best for: business and conference travelers; couples preferring quieter surroundings; travelers prioritizing spacious rooms

  • Watch out for: transport needed for historic-center sightseeing; pool and spa access may cost extra; some room decor feels dated

  • Location: Boavista business district, away from the historic center and waterfront.

  • Rooms: Spacious and generally comfortable; some recent guests find the decor dated.

  • Cleanliness: Consistently strong feedback across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia.

  • Service: Helpful, attentive staff are a recurring highlight in recent reviews.

  • Amenities: Well-reviewed breakfast, complimentary gym, restaurants and an indoor spa pool—not an outdoor pool.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is charged; confirm whether your booking includes indoor pool and spa access.
