Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong central apartment base, provided you’re comfortable with stairs and self-check-in. Mid-range self-catering apartments in central Porto, not a full-service 4-star hotel, scored for what it is.

InSitu Trindade, now also listed as Trindade by Guestify, is a collection of self-catering apartments rather than a conventional 4-star hotel. It’s a strong pick for independent Porto sightseeing: Trindade metro, Bolhão Market and plenty of restaurants are close by, and kitchens make longer stays practical. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise cleanliness, while recent reviews highlight helpful communication and well-kept interiors. Optional breakfast delivered to the door is a useful extra.

The main compromises are practical: there’s no lift, arrival is largely self-service, and luggage storage or tax payment may involve visiting a separate office. Some guests mention noise from neighboring apartments, and sofa-bed comfort draws occasional criticism. We’d choose it for couples wanting their own space, but skip upper-floor units if stairs are difficult and confirm sleeping arrangements before filling every advertised bed.

Best for: Couples on independent city breaks; Self-catering stays; Sightseers using public transport
Watch out for: No lift to upper floors; Separate-office logistics; Variable sofa-bed comfort
Location: Central and walkable, close to Trindade metro, Bolhão Market, shops and restaurants.
Rooms: Well-kept apartments with kitchens and air conditioning; layouts and extra-bed comfort vary.
Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com and Expedia, including recent guest feedback.
Service: Helpful, responsive hosts receive frequent praise; expect self-service arrival rather than hotel-style reception.
Amenities: Kitchens, Wi-Fi and optional breakfast delivery; airport transfers are available for a surcharge.
Fees and surprises: Breakfast and transfers cost extra; confirm parking arrangements and separate-office requirements before arrival.
