#6 of 9 hotels in Boavista by Axel's take. Boavista is #7 of 8 places to stay in Porto. The best hotels in Boavista, ranked · Where to stay in Porto

Axel's take: 8.4/10

A strong pick for food and friendly service, with room location worth checking. A music-themed 4-star inside Boavista’s Bom Sucesso food market, scored for what it is.

Hotel da Música is a music-themed 4-star inside Mercado do Bom Sucesso, and we’d pick it for the easy dining and dependable basics rather than luxury. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds; breakfast also earns plenty of approval. Having the food hall connected to the hotel gives evenings an appealingly easy rhythm, particularly if you’re attending a concert at nearby Casa da Música.

The trade-off is location and room outlook: this is Boavista, not the historic core, with roughly a ten-minute walk to the metro. Some rooms face the market or interior spaces, so ask about daylight, privacy and noise before booking. Market-side noise crops up in reviews, and an August 2026 Expedia guest reported early-morning construction next door; check whether that work continues. We’d skip it if doorstep old-town sightseeing or guaranteed quiet matters most.

  • Best for: Food-focused city breaks; Casa da Música concertgoers; Business travelers

  • Watch out for: Market-facing or inward-facing rooms; Nearby construction reported in August 2026; Outside the historic core

  • Location: Boavista base beside Casa da Música, with metro access roughly ten minutes away on foot.

  • Rooms: Comfortable, music-themed rooms; outlook and natural light vary, so confirm your room’s orientation.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are among the most consistently praised features.

  • Amenities: Restaurant, bar, buffet breakfast, free Wi-Fi, small gym and direct food-hall access.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra and spaces are limited; breakfast inclusion depends on the booking, and city tax applies.
