Axel's take: 6.4/10

Useful space and highway access, but housekeeping and upkeep make this a cautious pick. a basic 3-star all-suite hotel off I-275, scored for what it is.

Comfort Suites Canton–Detroit is a basic 3-star all-suite hotel off I-275, best considered for a short, practical stop rather than a polished stay. Spacious rooms, nearby restaurants and shopping, free parking and included breakfast are its strongest selling points. Expedia guests often praise helpful staff and comfortable stays, but the overall picture is mixed: Booking.com is notably less positive.

The main concern is consistency. Reviews across sites repeatedly describe stained carpets, tired furnishings, bathroom maintenance problems and uneven cleaning, alongside guests who found everything clean. Breakfast also gets mixed reports for selection and replenishment. An indoor pool and gym are listed, but confirm pool availability before promising children a swim; past guests encountered closures. We'd skip it if dependable housekeeping or fresh interiors matter more than extra space.

Best for: short-stay travelers with a car; budget-conscious visitors needing extra space
Watch out for: inconsistent housekeeping; worn furnishings and bathroom maintenance; confirm pool availability before booking
Location: Convenient for I-275, IKEA and nearby dining; better suited to drivers than downtown sightseeing.
Rooms: Generous space with refrigerators and microwaves, but recurring reports of worn carpets, furnishings and bathroom defects.
Cleanliness: Some recent guests report clean rooms; repeated contrary accounts make housekeeping the biggest reservation.
Service: Helpful, friendly staff receive regular praise, though problem handling and housekeeping follow-through vary.
Amenities: Breakfast, indoor pool and gym are listed; breakfast quality varies and past pool closures warrant checking.
Fees and surprises: Parking is free; Booking.com lists a refundable damage deposit, so confirm payment requirements directly.
