#3 of 3 hotels in Pismo Outlets & Five Cities Drive by Axel's take. Pismo Outlets & Five Cities Drive is #6 of 6 places to stay in Pismo Beach. The best hotels in Pismo Outlets & Five Cities Drive, ranked · Where to stay in Pismo Beach

Axel's take: 4.9/10

Convenient for drivers and pets, but too inconsistent on the basics. a no-frills 2-star roadside motel off Highway 101, scored for what it is.

This is a no-frills 2-star roadside motel, not a beachfront stay: the official site puts Pismo Beach Pier two miles away. Free parking, free pet stays and easy highway access give it practical appeal. Some recent Expedia guests report clean rooms and helpful staff, but the overall picture across Expedia, Booking.com and Tripadvisor falls below what even a simple budget motel should deliver.

The problem isn't missing luxuries. Recent guests repeatedly describe dirty floors or bedding, worn bathrooms and maintenance faults; Priceline reviews also flag unreliable air conditioning. Staff receive more praise than the building, but that doesn't make room quality dependable. Fridges and microwaves aren't standard in every category, so check your booking carefully. We'd consider it only for a basic stopover with pets, and skip it for a family beach vacation or reliable comfort.

Best for: drivers needing a short stopover; budget travelers with pets
Watch out for: recurring housekeeping and maintenance complaints; reported air-conditioning failures; not beachfront
Location: Off Highway 101, two miles from Pismo Beach Pier; better suited to drivers.
Rooms: Small, basic rooms; recurring wear and cooling complaints, with appliances limited to certain categories.
Cleanliness: Some clean-room reports, but dirty floors, bedding and bathrooms recur across recent reviews.
Service: Often described as friendly and helpful, though check-in and problem handling are inconsistent.
Amenities: Outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi, coin laundry and free parking; don't expect extensive in-room extras.
Fees and surprises: Pets stay free; verify the exact room's fridge and microwave provision before booking.
