Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong hillside retreat for pool time and thoughtful service, rather than beach access. a leafy 4-star hillside resort near central Duong Dong, not on the beach, scored for what it is.

Lahana is a leafy 4-star hillside resort that delivers particularly well on service, gardens and poolside relaxation. We'd choose it for a comfortable base near Duong Dong's restaurants, rather than a beachfront holiday. Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com guests consistently praise the helpful staff, clean rooms and breakfast; the infinity pool is the standout amenity. Rooms and bungalows favor space and natural materials over elaborate luxury.

The hillside is the main compromise: reaching breakfast and the pool can involve steep paths, although guests report helpful buggy service. Some recent visitors mention mosquitoes and musty rooms, against a much larger volume of cleanliness praise. Guests also reported maintenance and renovation noise in June–July 2026; confirm whether work has finished. We'd skip it if step-free independence or direct beach access matters most.

Best for: couples who prefer gardens and pool time; families comfortable with hillside paths; travelers wanting restaurants nearby
Watch out for: steep paths between rooms and facilities; occasional mosquitoes and musty-room reports; confirm status of reported renovation work
Location: Near Duong Dong restaurants and shops, but no direct beach access.
Rooms: Spacious, simply styled rooms and bungalows; some guests report damp smells.
Cleanliness: Strong ratings across major sites outweigh scattered housekeeping and humidity complaints.
Service: Helpful reception staff and buggy assistance are recurring strengths.
Amenities: Infinity pool, breakfast, spa, gym and children's facilities; pool space can get busy.
Fees and surprises: Expedia lists airport transfers as extra; June–July 2026 renovation reports need checking before booking.
