Surf & Sand is a no-frills 2-star on Little Sabine Bay, with the Gulf beach across the road—not outside your door. It’s a good-value base for walking to the pier, boardwalk and restaurants. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, breakfast and handy location, while complimentary kayaks, paddleboards and bikes give this simple hotel extra appeal.

The rooms are older rather than polished, and Tripadvisor’s more mixed feedback includes maintenance and mustiness complaints, though recent Expedia guests mostly describe clean, comfortable stays.
