#1 of 2 hotels in Nydalen & Storo by Axel's take. Nydalen & Storo is #9 of 12 places to stay in Oslo. The best hotels in Nydalen & Storo, ranked · Where to stay in Oslo

Axel's take: 9.1/10

Excellent breakfast and dependable comfort make the out-of-centre location worth considering. a modern 4-star business hotel outside central Oslo, scored for what it is.

Thon Hotel Storo is a modern 4-star business hotel that delivers unusually well on the basics. We'd put it high on the list if you value comfort over a downtown address. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, quiet rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff. The included breakfast buffet is the standout: enthusiasm for its quality and choice is remarkably consistent across sites.

The main compromise is geography. You're beside Storo's shops rather than Oslo's central sights, so expect to use the nearby metro, tram or bus. That's manageable, but we'd skip it if walking straight into downtown sightseeing or nightlife matters most. Garage parking costs extra and is externally operated. For business trips and city breaks where a short commute is acceptable, it's a particularly strong pick.

Best for: business travelers; breakfast enthusiasts; city-break travelers comfortable using transit
Watch out for: outside the walkable downtown sightseeing core; externally operated paid parking
Location: Beside Storo shopping centre, with metro, tram and bus connections nearby.
Rooms: Modern, comfortable and generally quiet; recent guests often praise the beds and spacious bathrooms.
Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback, supported by Expedia's high cleanliness rating.
Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are a consistent strength across recent reviews.
Amenities: Standout included breakfast, a gym, restaurant, bar and complimentary lobby coffee.
Fees and surprises: Garage parking is charged separately; pets are accepted in selected rooms for a surcharge.
