#4 of 9 hotels in Oslo Central Station & Bjørvika by Axel's take. Oslo Central Station & Bjørvika is #2 of 12 places to stay in Oslo. The best hotels in Oslo Central Station & Bjørvika, ranked · Where to stay in Oslo
Axel's take: 8.3/10
A strong short-stay base, with clean rooms and very few extras. a no-frills 3-star beside Oslo Central Station, scored for what it is.
Comfort Hotel Xpress Central Station is a no-frills 3-star that gets the short-city-stay essentials right. Its biggest advantage is the location: a few minutes from Oslo S, with the Opera House and Karl Johans gate easily walkable. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Booking.com’s overall rating supports that positive picture. It’s a strong pick if you want a practical base rather than somewhere to spend the day.
The compromises are deliberate: small rooms, little clothes storage, no in-room tea or coffee, and housekeeping every fourth day. Breakfast costs extra, with grab-and-go options rather than an included buffet. Tripadvisor guests reported construction across the street in spring and summer 2026; check whether it still affects your room. We’d skip it for a long stay with lots of luggage or full-service expectations.
-
Best for: rail travelers and overnight stopovers; budget-minded city breaks; travelers packing light
-
Watch out for: small rooms and limited clothes storage; housekeeping every fourth day; breakfast extra; nearby construction reported in 2026; current impact unconfirmed
-
Location: Excellent for Oslo S, airport trains, shopping and walking to the waterfront.
-
Rooms: Simple, comfortable rooms; compact doubles start at 14 m², with limited storage.
-
Cleanliness: Consistently praised across guest sites, though routine cleaning is every fourth day.
-
Service: Helpful staff are a recurring strength; reception is staffed around the clock.
-
Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, luggage storage and a lobby bar with snacks; breakfast available to buy.
-
Fees and surprises: Breakfast and pets cost extra; parking is off-site, and nearby construction needs checking.
