Fresh rooms and family fun, but crowds and dining queues limit the appeal. a large, lively beachfront all-inclusive for families, rather than a luxury retreat, scored for what it is.

Riu Flamingos is a big, activity-packed beachfront all-inclusive, and a good pick for families who want plenty to do without luxury expectations. Formerly Riu Jalisco, it was comprehensively renovated in late 2025 and renamed in May 2026. Recent Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and friendly staff. Six pools, children's slides, an ice-cream shop and daily entertainment give it strong family appeal.

The trade-off is a busy resort experience rather than a peaceful escape. Tripadvisor guests repeatedly describe specialty-restaurant queues, while food and drink quality draw mixed reactions despite plenty of choice. Pool-area cleanliness also gets uneven reports, although room cleanliness is generally a strength. Beach shade is limited, with guests reporting paid umbrella rentals. We'd choose it for an energetic, good-value family holiday; we'd skip it for quiet romance, consistently polished dining or attentive poolside service.
