A refreshed downtown base with helpful staff, but Canal Street won't suit everyone. a renovated 4-star chain hotel on busy Canal Street, scored for what it is.

Sheraton Tribeca is a renovated 4-star chain hotel that makes a strong base for exploring downtown, rather than a luxury escape. SoHo, Chinatown and several subway lines are close, while the skyline terrace gives you a reason to linger. Expedia and Booking.com guests broadly praise cleanliness, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Marriott now describes the hotel as fully renovated, and September 2026 guests on Hotels.com welcome the refresh.

The trade-off is Canal Street itself: busy, noisy and crowded with vendors, not a polished Tribeca side street. Room sizes vary, and some guests report rooms feeling warm despite the air-conditioning setting. Earlier 2026 construction complaints predate the reported renovation completion in August. We'd choose it for downtown sightseeing and practical comfort; we'd skip it for guaranteed quiet or a pampering four-star experience.

• Best for: downtown sightseeing; SoHo shopping trips; Marriott elites using the Club Lounge

• Watch out for: Canal Street noise and vendor crowds; variable room sizes; occasional room-temperature complaints

• Location: Excellent downtown access and nearby subways; the immediate Canal Street frontage is hectic.

• Rooms: Recently redesigned, with generally comfortable beds; size and temperature comfort vary.

• Cleanliness: Broadly positive across booking sites, despite some less consistent reports on Tripadvisor.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, though not every interaction earns praise.

• Amenities: Skyline terrace, 24-hour gym and refreshed lobby; Club Lounge access requires an eligible booking or status.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is paid and off-site; breakfast inclusion and Club access depend on your booking.
