Axel's take: 7.7/10

Good space and helpful staff, but sightseeing takes extra legwork. a no-frills 3-star with roomy suites in South Williamsburg, scored for what it is.

Pointe Plaza is a no-frills 3-star in South Williamsburg, best chosen for space and practicality rather than boutique polish. Expedia and Booking.com guests consistently praise helpful staff and generally clean, comfortable rooms; suites offer particularly useful space for families. The hotel advertises kitchens in suites, making these a sensible option for longer Brooklyn visits.

The main compromise is location: expect roughly a 10–15-minute walk to the subway, not Manhattan attractions on your doorstep. Breakfast is complimentary and kosher, but guests repeatedly describe limited variety. Confirm breakfast days before a weekend stay, and check your exact suite layout and kitchen equipment rather than assuming the photos tell the whole story. We'd choose it for a practical Brooklyn base, but skip it for polished interiors or effortless sightseeing.

• Best for: families needing extra room; longer Brooklyn visits; travelers seeking kosher breakfast

• Watch out for: 10–15-minute walk to the subway; basic breakfast; confirm weekend availability; confirm suite layout and kitchen equipment

• Location: South Williamsburg base with nearby buses; subway access requires a walk.

• Rooms: Space is a strength, especially in suites; confirm layout and kitchen contents.

• Cleanliness: Generally a strength: Booking.com scores cleanliness 8.1 and Expedia 8.4.

• Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff earn consistent praise across sites.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, kosher continental breakfast, fitness center and guest laundry.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is paid and first-come; subway shuttle costs extra, and Booking.com lists a refundable damage deposit.
