Axel's take: 8.7/10

A dependable Manhattan base with welcoming staff and a facility fee to factor in. a modern 4-star city hotel on the Chelsea–NoMad border, scored for what it is.

INNSiDE is a modern 4-star on the Chelsea–NoMad border, and a strong pick for travelers who prioritize a comfortable base over elaborate hotel facilities. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. Recent Expedia reviews reinforce that picture, with many finding the rooms reasonably spacious for Manhattan. Nearby subways and walkable access to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden make the location especially practical.

The main catch is the daily facility fee: check whether your booking includes or waives it, rather than treating the in-room refreshments as a pure freebie. Room sizes vary, and noise reports are mixed rather than uniformly quiet. We'd choose it for sightseeing or business, but look elsewhere if guaranteed silence or extensive resort-style amenities matter most.

• Best for: Manhattan sightseeing; Madison Square Garden visits; Business travelers

• Watch out for: Daily facility fee unless included or waived; Variable room sizes; Some street noise

• Location: Convenient for Chelsea, NoMad, Penn Station and several subway lines.

• Rooms: Modern and comfortable; entry-level queens are compact, while larger layouts and terrace categories are available.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and recent Expedia feedback.

• Service: Friendly, accommodating staff are one of the clearest recurring positives.

• Amenities: A 24-hour gym, on-site dining, Wi-Fi and in-room refreshments cover the city-hotel essentials.

• Fees and surprises: Verify the facility fee and breakfast inclusions; some packages explicitly waive the daily fee.
