Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong Queens base with helpful staff, comfortable rooms and some traffic noise. a practical 3-star hotel in Queens with easy subway access to Manhattan, scored for what it is.

This practical 3-star in Long Island City is a strong pick if you want easy Manhattan access without staying in Midtown. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the cleanliness, comfortable rooms and genuinely helpful staff. Several subway stations are a short walk away, with restaurants and cafés nearby. Family-friendly room layouts, including options with sofa beds, and an included hot breakfast make it especially useful for a sightseeing trip.

The main caution is room position: traffic from the nearby elevated roadway bothers some guests, although others report quiet stays. Request a room away from the road rather than assuming every room sleeps equally well. Breakfast is convenient rather than a highlight, and seating can fill up. Parking costs extra and spaces are limited. We'd skip it if absolute quiet or walking straight into Manhattan's attractions matters most.

• Best for: families wanting flexible sleeping arrangements; subway-based sightseeing trips; travelers prioritizing clean rooms and helpful staff

• Watch out for: traffic noise in some road-facing rooms; limited breakfast seating at busy times; paid parking with limited spaces

• Location: Several subway stations and local dining options are within a short walk; Manhattan requires a train ride.

• Rooms: Comfortable, well-kept rooms with refrigerators; sofa-bed options suit families, but road exposure matters.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest feedback, with particularly strong Expedia cleanliness ratings.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are one of the clearest recurring positives across sites.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour gym and lobby dining cover the essentials.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is charged separately and limited; early check-in and late checkout may also incur fees.
