Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong Flushing base for food and airport access, with some noise trade-offs. A practical 3-star in downtown Flushing with a LaGuardia shuttle, scored for what it is.

This practical 3-star in downtown Flushing is a strong pick for LaGuardia stopovers, families and travelers coming for the neighborhood’s Chinese restaurants. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests consistently praise clean, spacious rooms and helpful staff. Included breakfast, a free airport shuttle and a short walk to the 7 train make it useful beyond an overnight airport stay. We’d choose it for convenience and room to spread out, rather than stylish interiors.

The trade-offs are busy streets, some dated furnishings and repeated reports of loud air-conditioning. Parking costs extra, and the shuttle runs on a schedule rather than continuously, so confirm arrangements before arrival. Manhattan sightseeing means a substantial train ride. Skip it if your priorities are quiet nights or walking straight out into Midtown.

• Best for: LaGuardia stopovers; Families wanting more room; Exploring Flushing’s food scene

• Watch out for: Air-conditioning and occasional street noise; Scheduled airport shuttle; Longer journeys to Manhattan

• Location: Downtown Flushing restaurants and the 7 train are nearby; better for Queens than a Manhattan-centered stay.

• Rooms: Generally spacious, with seating areas in many categories; some guests find furnishings dated and air-conditioning noisy.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Tripadvisor and Expedia feedback.

• Service: Staff receive strong praise overall, with occasional complaints about follow-through on requests.

• Amenities: Included breakfast, free airport shuttle, Wi-Fi and a 24-hour gym; do not assume older pool descriptions remain accurate.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking costs extra; confirm shuttle operating hours and pickup arrangements directly.
